The City That Never Sleeps

Happy Memorial Day! Will and I spent an extended 4-day weekend in New York City with some of our closest friends. Congratulations to Amanda & Jay whose wedding was the big event that got us all up to the city!! New York City is such an interesting city with an energy that is different than anything I've ever seen. Will took me to see The Lion King on Broadway, a show that I've been dying to see for years. It was well worth the wait --- AMAZING show!! I highly recommend it.

Times Square

If there are any Lion King directors reading my blog, I'd like to point out that I've got some MAD dance skills that your show could really benefit from. I'm not cheap, but I promise you won't be disappointed. Call me. :-)

Thanks W for such a great weekend -- I had a blast with you!! XOXO.

Self Portraits

The girls and I were in the mood to attempt some self-portraits (that is, hold my arm out as far as I could with the camera and see what kind of pictures we could get) last night. For some reason every time I do this I end up with 14 chins which is not real attractive, but they're always funny nonetheless. :-)

First was Bailey's turn. She really turned on the charm in this first one. How adorable is she? I think she has my eyes!! Hahaha!

Then she got bored with the camera and decided it was kiss Mama time.

Kelsee and I didn't have nearly as much luck. Maybe between the two of us, our heads are too big, but I couldn't seem to get a shot that didn't cut off 1/2 one of our heads. I'm pretty sure that's a real smile on her face...she was trying real hard to help me get that perfect shot.

...and then she was sleepy. She makes a very nice (and very BIG) throw pillow on our bed, don't you think?

On a completely different note -----

Chad and Tasha are packing up all their stuff and will start the long journey across the United States on Friday morning, making a stop in Illinois to see Mom and Dad for a few days on the way. Anyone reading this, please say a prayer for their safe travels and that they have a blast on this road trip. C&T -- I hope to see lots of great road trip pictures on your blog!! (You know, things like the biggest ball of yarn and other national treasures that you pass!)

Love you and can't wait for you to get here!

A Sneak Peak for Mark and Lindsay!

Happiness

Naomi from The Rockstar Diaries has been doing a series on the little things in life that make you happy. I think it's beautiful. I had so much fun sitting down and writing my list -- I smiled the entire time -- and isn't that the point? :-) So mine are...

1. morning hugs from Will
2. a camera in my hand
3. our kitchen - so bright and happy
4. snuggles and kisses from the pups
5. crawling into bed on Friday nights - sleeping like a baby and knowing that I have the entire weekend ahead of me!
6. new sassy shoes
7. drinking coffee on the deck on weekend mornings
8. the conversations w/ Will on our nightly walks with the dogs
9. pictures - of us, of other people, new, old, I don't care. I love the stories and emotion tied to each one
10. baking (and then eating) warm chocolate chip cookies or brownies

So how about you? What little, daily things make you happy? :-)

Love My Munchkins

Just feeling lots of love for these two good girls lately. They make my heart melt. Will calls them my mood rings because they are happy when I'm happy, sad when I'm sad, energetic when I'm energetic and lazy when I'm lazy. For their sake, I sure hope I'm happy and energetic A LOT -- they deserve it!
