Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer

I was able to spend a few hours with Brian and Christine yesterday afternoon while we did their maternity session. I love these two, they are so much fun! And so artistic -- the nursery that they have designed for their soon-to-arrive baby girl is ADORABLE with a great beach theme. Brian and Christine, thanks for letting me be a part of such an exciting time in your lives. I can't wait to meet your new little princess!

Please don't tell Bailey and Kelsee, but they have some rivals in my "favorite models" category. Chad and Tasha are here for 2 months this summer, so we have a few different photo sessions in mind -- one of which we did yesterday. For this session, we did an edgy style that I think turned out fantastic.

So this one falls more into the "cute" category, but Chad was kissing little Peanut and I couldn't help but include it! :-)

This is probably my favorite shot of all...

The City That Never Sleeps

Happy Memorial Day! Will and I spent an extended 4-day weekend in New York City with some of our closest friends. Congratulations to Amanda & Jay whose wedding was the big event that got us all up to the city!! New York City is such an interesting city with an energy that is different than anything I've ever seen. Will took me to see The Lion King on Broadway, a show that I've been dying to see for years. It was well worth the wait --- AMAZING show!! I highly recommend it.

If there are any Lion King directors reading my blog, I'd like to point out that I've got some MAD dance skills that your show could really benefit from. I'm not cheap, but I promise you won't be disappointed. Call me. :-)

Self Portraits

The girls and I were in the mood to attempt some self-portraits (that is, hold my arm out as far as I could with the camera and see what kind of pictures we could get) last night. For some reason every time I do this I end up with 14 chins which is not real attractive, but they're always funny nonetheless. :-)

First was Bailey's turn. She really turned on the charm in this first one. How adorable is she? I think she has my eyes!! Hahaha!

Then she got bored with the camera and decided it was kiss Mama time.

Kelsee and I didn't have nearly as much luck. Maybe between the two of us, our heads are too big, but I couldn't seem to get a shot that didn't cut off 1/2 one of our heads. I'm pretty sure that's a real smile on her face...she was trying real hard to help me get that perfect shot.

...and then she was sleepy. She makes a very nice (and very BIG) throw pillow on our bed, don't you think?

On a completely different note -----

Chad and Tasha are packing up all their stuff and will start the long journey across the United States on Friday morning, making a stop in Illinois to see Mom and Dad for a few days on the way. Anyone reading this, please say a prayer for their safe travels and that they have a blast on this road trip. C&T -- I hope to see lots of great road trip pictures on your blog!! (You know, things like the biggest ball of yarn and other national treasures that you pass!)
