Actions Speak Louder Than Words...

I've been asked by numerous people if Bailey and Kelsee are enjoying their new home in Colorado. I figured I'd just let them show you what they think...

Yep, I'd say they're loving it!!! :-)

And then a first for me....elk! Growing up in Montana, Will has seen elk his whole life. I never have. I'm guessing after seeing them this morning just hangin' out alongside the road, this won't be my last time to see them!

We Made It!!

We made it and Will and I are now official Coloradans!! We are loving it out here and having a great time learning the area and getting our house all set up. I have to admit that I was really terrible at taking pictures on our journey to get out here. I did take a few, however, so here's a little photo essay of the past couple weeks.....

Our first stop was to visit my family in Illinois. Although it was a short visit, it was so wonderful to spend time with my parents and my Grandma.

Right: Bailey LOVES my Dad and likes to follow him anywhere he goes. Not sure how she did it, but Bailey convinced my Mom to let her up on the couch to rest next to Grandpa. For any of you who know my Mom well, you understand how shocking this is!! :-)

While we were at my parent's house, my cousin Jen and her family stopped by to see us. Jen and I were like sisters growing up and I love her so much. Her daughters are absolutely ADORABLE and they definitely have their Mama's feisty personality!!

I love this picture of Zoey and Jen -- so cute how they are looking at each other exactly the same way. Like mother, like daughter!

Center: Chad, Tasha and Lola made the trip up here to visit us in Denver. Words cannot express how much I love this little girl. She is nothing short of precious.
Right: Lola. Those eyes....I just can't get enough.

Bailey is pretty sure that Lola is her bestest friend (next to Kelsee, of course)! She wanted to be right with Lola all the time. The left picture is so funny. I told Bailey to "Stay" -- she is such a good girl and she stayed like that for so long that her leg up in the air was shaking.

Will, Chad and Tasha working so hard on house renovations. Will and I were so blessed by all the work that Chad and Tasha helped us with. THANK YOU so much, Chad and Tasha!!!

Me? Well, someone had to accompany Lola during her naps!!!!

Farewell Shindig

On Saturday evening, Will and I were very honored to be joined by 15 of our dear friends for a farewell dinner at the D.C. Brazilian steakhouse, Fogo de Chao. It was wonderful to see everyone and have a chance to say good-bye. Here are just a few of the pictures from that night...

Mr. Cobb is 6 Months!

I know I've mentioned it before, but one of the greatest things about my time working at the Pentagon are the fantastic friends that I've made. Kelly is one of those great friends and I've been so honored that she and her husband have allowed me to photograph their son, Cobb, at newborn, 3 months and now 6 months. He is hilarious....so happy and willing to laugh at me and his Mama today. Check out how much this little guy has grown...

Thanks Mr. Cobb!! I had such a good time with you today! Thanks for making me smile! :-)

Wind Can't Stop Us!

I had such a great time with the C family on Friday. They were so great and willing to tolerate the cold and crazy wind to hang out with me. Mom and Dad had to keep tissues on hand to combat the kids' runny noses and watery eyes caused by the wind. The best part, though, was that none of them seemed to care and they all had a ton of fun, which I think is evident in the images...

Aren't these kids precious!! I love the center picture so much. The typical older brother move....when asked to hug his sister, he takes the opportunity to do a wrestling move on her. I think my favorite part, though, is how she isn't phased one bit! :-)

Natural Beauties

I had my camera out on Saturday as I was getting ready for a client's photo session. The girls were in my office with me and were very inquisitively looking out the window. Clearly I think they are the cutest pups ever (as is evident by the number of pictures I take of them and post on this blog), but I thought they looked extra cute with the natural sunlight on their little faces.

The Final Countdown

If I could sing a single note on key, I'd be belting out the lyrics to Europe's 1986 hit, It's the Final Countdown. (Do you italicize song titles? Or is that books? Or do you use quotes? I can never remember.) Anyway... 2 weeks from tomorrow will be our last day in the D.C. area. Crazy.

So what are we doing in the final days? We're just hangin' out, passing the time. Haha, um, no. My to-do list is slightly overwhelming and the fewer days we have left, the longer the list seems to become. I will try to keep up the blog as we wrap up our time here, but bear with me if my updates are a little sparse. Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of March....spring's comin'!!
